SOUTH DOWNS FARM

This ongoing garden project encompasses two distinct outdoor spaces: a studio garden for Airbnb guests and the main garden serving the principal Airbnb property. Overlooking the beautiful South Downs, stretching from Brighton towards Lewes, the design has been carefully considered to complement and celebrate the surrounding landscape. A sculpted hedge runs along the rear of the garden, shaped to echo the gentle waves and contours of the rolling hills beyond. Planting has been thoughtfully selected to suit the different conditions throughout the gardens, with sun-loving plants in brighter areas, a wildflower garden to encourage local wildlife, and shade-tolerant plants surrounding the hot tub. An orchard of pear, apple and cherry trees adds a productive and seasonal element, while a dedicated wellness area at the top of the garden features a sauna, dunk bucket and outdoor shower, screened with woven willow that we have grown ourselves. A fire pit area completes the space, creating a place to gather, unwind and enjoy the uninterrupted views across the South Downs.
